Christmas is here bringing good cheer to one and all...

Kia Ora Whanau and Ehoa!

Christmas is tomorrow! Unless you are you. and then it's the day after. :-) I'm pretty excited to call home. :-)
I have received a Christmas present from Grandma Putnam. Thanks grandma! If you are not amongst that list, then you did not send it early enough! :-) So, it might not be until January that I get it. Lol...

So, Dad, I asked a question a bit ago if you knew a certain person in St George. You have yet to answer that question. :-)

New Investigator time!

Nati moved in with his family recently down from Whangarei. (fah-ng(like i singer, not finger)- array). He is brothers with Rahiri and John. He's the child in between Ra and John. Anyways, he is here for a while. Not too sure how long, but for a while. :-) We've taught him a few lessons and he's been to church. So, he has moved from Potential Investigator to New Investigator.

I don't recall if I talked about Shane, son of April. He is a new investigator. We had a lesson with him yesterday where we set a plan with him to quit smoking weed and cigarettes. We are going to slowly wean him off them, because he gets really angry and starts smashing up the house when he can't get his smokes. So, we are going to fix that. :-)

I don't recall if I mentioned Brooke, but she is kinda dodging us. So.... we're gonna have her friend, Tahe, talk to her and see what's up.

We made some brownies and delivered them to some of the members in our area. :-) It was fun. I'll attach the picture of a plate of brownies. We bought something like 6 boxes of brownie mix because it is easier than making them from scratch.

We have a Christmas tree!!! Yay! It looks a little droopy and sad but it' the first real Christmas tree that I've ever had! Woot! :-) We decorated it with all manner of Missionary items (BoMs, Pamphlets, pictures of Christ, toilet paper, etc. :-)

We had Zone Conference this past Thursday and it was really awesome. We set a goal for next year of 3000 baptisms in the mission. We will have 125 companionship by mid 2013. So, that translates to a little over 2 baptisms for every companionship every month. :-) Very doable. We also had a Christmas program where all the zones sang a certain song. Some were good, some thought they were good, and others... yikes. :-) We got a PMG master teacher program. It will really help us to become amazingly awesome missionaries. :-)

Nati and Shane might be set soon. They are very capable. Also, there are these two girls, Lima and Lisa. They have been coming to church with their auntie for a while. So, the previous kids were baptized, and they went less active, so there is a little apprehension towards getting them baptized. So, we are going to try to have E. Brown, a Samoan missionary, try to teach them, because they are all Samoan, so that would make the language barrier not a problem, plus, there would be more trust. :-)

Wero, April, and Tyesha are just soaring! Funny story! So they went to a family reunion in Otorohanga, and April grabbed a beer because she forgot and was about to drink it, and Tyesha comes running over sits on her lap and says: "No! You're a Mormon! You can't do that anymore!' They have all been doing really good. April and Wero received callings, and they are till active-az. :-)

Well, that's all for today!

Love,

E. Staheli

Pictures

1. Us in front of the Christmas tree. We Used this one on our Christmas card that we attached to the brownes. :-)

2. A scrumptious plate of brownies. :)

3. We got these temporary tattoos from a member. They are helping quitting smoking. We thought we were cool until we tried to take them off. :-) It was really difficult to get them off. Soap and water did nothing. We ended up taking lint roller paper and effectively waxing our tattoos off. Ouch. Moral of the story: Don't put on temporary tattoos, because just like real tattoos, they are painful to remove. ;-)

4. I got his Christmas card from Wero and April. It's the only card they had, so despite the fact that it's actually a happy birthday to a granddaughter, it's the thought that counts.

5. The inside of the card. This card is redeemable for 1 present. I redeemed it and they got me a Haka shirt and a Factorie Jersey. :-) They are such great people.
